CE796 - Bauernmalerei Placemats

Bauernmalerei or more traditionally known as Folk Art, are perfect designs for projects such as placemats, table cloths, cushion covers and also clothing such as jeans. These designs are done with a textured long and short stitch giving them an authentic hand embroidered look. I've done mine in shades of blue to go with my dinner service. These designs should be stitched out on medium to heavy weight fabrics. When choosing thread shades, preferably use threads that are about two shades lighter than the previous darker thread. This will give a somewhat more pronounced shading.
