Carrickmacross Lace is a traditional form of embroidery that consists of muslin applique and needle lace on netting. It was started in Ireland in 1820 by a Mrs Grey Porter to help women who needed to earn money. It is a beautiful and delicate lace which is just perfect for stitching on prom dresses, wedding dresses, veils, tea showers, blouses and home decor.
