Lace Earings. The World’s Easiest!
Today we are going to make the “world’s easiest Lace Earings!” Each design is small and measures approx. from just over an inch to 1.75 inch/3cm to 4.5cm. I have included colour stops for trimming any little “jump stitches” where necessary. However, only 1 colour is used throughout. Your bobbin thread matches the top thread. I used machine embroidery thread – Marathon – and it works very well. From your local craft shop you will need to get jump rings to make drop earrings (optional) and earring hooks. You will also need some small imitation pearls and a glue gun for gluing on the pearls.
ITH Sweet-Pea QAYG Quilt Blocks
Today we are going to make ITH Sweet-Pea QAYG Quilt Blocks. These are lovely, easy to make quilt blocks. The blocks are 7″x7″ square so cut your fabric and batting 2″ larger all round. This will give you extra fabric to work with to complete your project. The running stitches edging the square keep the fabric taut while embroidering and are very easy to remove when the square is completed. I have also included an Accent Block which is only quilted should you want a plain block to complete your project:)
ITH Sunglasses Holder
Today we are going to make a ITH Sunglasses Holder. They are nice and roomy for those big fashion style sunglasses that are always so popular. This is a nice project to make as gifts for animal lover, craft fairs or fund raisers for animal welfare.
ITH Key Fobs
Today we are going to make some ITH Key Fobs. These nifty little guys are easy to make and will use up scraps of fabrics. Besides the cute design on the front there is a nifty little pocket on the back. These little fobs are great for gifts, craft fairs and fund raisers for animal welfare.
Festive Fabric Bowls
Today we are going to make Festive Fabric Bowls, perfect for serving homemade treats in or to use as gifts. I made them in 2 sizes. The bigger bowl measures 12″/30cm across by 5″/13cm high. The base is 4.5″/11.5cm sq. The smaller bowl measures 9″/23cm across by 3.5″/9cm high. The base is 3.5″/8.5cm sq.
Fall Time Oven Mitts
Today we are going to make a pair of Fall Time Oven Mitts for the 6″x10″/150mmx250mm Hoop. Each Mitt is done in 2 hoopings, an upper-side and an under-side, which are then stitched together by machine to complete. This is an easy pattern and stitches out quickly. All the fabric used is poly-cotton with a heat-proof batting.
Educational Lacing Cards
Today we are going to make Educational Lacing Cards. They are stitched out on felt and also backed with felt. The laces can be bought from toy shops and children’s educational supplies shops. They are absolutely necessary for the development of dexterity skills as well as hand-eye co-ordination. These are great gifts for parents and teachers alike as well as for selling at Craft-stalls.
Edufish Educational Fish Toy
Today we are going to make a lovely educational fish toy for a pre-schooler. You will need oddments of felt and thin batting. No need for stuffing! No additional sewing! A few safety-pins makes the little hanger. Everything is put together with a gluegun, which crafters always have! Both sides of each little animal are included. The little fishing-rod is made from a dowel, a length of wool and a magnet. The magnet
is hot-glued onto the wool. Super-easy
and lots of fun!
Continuous Quilt Sandwich
Today we are going to make a Continuous Quilt Sandwich using our embroidery machines. We will be using the placement method so you will need a printout of the Continuous Quilt design that you want to use. You will also need a ruler and a washable fabric marker to mark the placement of the design on your quilt. The quilt designs in this design set are in 4 hoop sizes: 5×5, 6×6, 7×7 and 8×8. You will need to match the
embroidery thread and bobbin to your fabric. Now choose your hoop size and format and load the design to your machine. No Stabilizer is needed.
